Comic post #1

I drew this one. See? I told you I got better! In fact, I used this particular Sassy Comic in my portfolio for college. What I kind of skipped over in the first post was that my and Amanda's comics follow the adventures of cartoon versions of ourselves mostly. This comic only has me in it though..

Hello, children!

On a road trip to South Carolina with her mom, her sister and my sister (One of her best friends) , my artsy fartsy friend, Amanda, was doodling away in her drawing pad while waiting to arrive at their destination. This was where Sassy the Sasquatch was born (I didn't go with them.. So this may not be exactly what happened.. Just play along for a second..).
Here's the very first picture of Sassy that Amanda made.
Fucking brilliant, ammiright? Anyway..

Amanda drew a whole bunch more doodles and pictures after that road trip. Sassy became much more than just a picture of a sasquatch (That's another name for a Big Foot if you didn't know..) wearing boots. He became a lovable oafy bastard who talked in the 3rd person with occasional, almost unprovoked, fits of rage. He now had a personality.

He was hilarious.

You may be wondering "Who's this faggot talking about Amanda and why is he talking about some else's doodles? Unoriginal fuck, get your own doodles." Well I'll tell you why I'm blogging about her doodles.
I fucking loved those doodles. I love all of Amanda's doodles, but Sassy just sticks with me. On weekends during the summer, Amanda'd come over and we'd hang with my sister and Amanda would just doodle. We all came up with ideas for what Sassy should be doing in those doodles. We'd use inside jokes and poke fun at bad/awkward things that happen to us and just think of things that would be funny for Sassy to do..

I had enough of just watching, I wanted in on Sassy as well. Amanda didn't mind.

Using my wonderfully shitty MS Paint skills (That Amanda had previously taught to me, for a South Park comic we made together once.),  I set out to make my own Sassy Comic to show Amanda.. It sucked.. take a look:

Notice the South Park character versions of us.. and the drawing of Sassy that Amanda drew that I cut out.. I couldn't draw shit. I figured I'd practice hard and free hand it for once though. Still couldn't draw shit ↓.

But Amanda didn't care. It was good enough for her.

We'd send each other MS Paint Sassy Comics back and forth to each other over MySpace (It was in at the time..). Every time I got a comic it was like fucking Christmas. I ended up getting better at drawing them as well..

Then as the years passed.. Amanda got in a fatal car accident.. and then it was up to me to carry on Sassy's legacy.

Lol, nahh, she's still alive, she just got frustrated with MS Paint and got bored of making comics with a mouse, saying it took too long (She's moved on to bigger and better artwork anyway..). So we stopped sending them to each other. Amanda would draw me comics on paper though every once in a while. So that was nice. And she still doodles him.

I kept drawing them on MS Paint though. And I kept all of our comics as well. I then posted a big ol' album on MySpace (And eventually Facebook) containing all of the ones we drew.

People went batshit.
Loved 'em.
Mostly Amanda's..

But hey, I'm much better now! (I got into 3 art schools, bitches!)

And I'm now working on this other idea I came up with for Sassy. I call it an Epic Sassy Comic. Just a huge ass comic that follows a story line (As opposed to the random comics Amanda and I sent to each other on MySpace).

I have 4 of them. (2 are finished, 1 that I gave up on, and my pride and joy, the one I'm currently working on; Epic Sassy Comic 4 [Biggest one I've made yet. Probably the only one I'll show you as well..])

So that's pretty much it. I'll post all the Sassy Comics I have, both mine and Amanda's.

I hope you like them..

My name's John by the way..
